Jose A. Puppim de Oliveira is faculty member at the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV EAESP) and FGV EBAPE). He is also visiting professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (COPPEAD-UFRJ), Fudan University (Shanghai) and Universidad Andina Simon Bolivar in Quito. 

He is an Associate Fellow with the United Nations University (UNU-IIGH) in Kuala Lumpur and the MIT Joint Program on Science and Policy for Global Change. 

Post Doc researcher at Fundação Getulio Vargas - Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (FGV/EBAPE) in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). Ph.D. in Business Administration at Universidade Alto Vale do Itajaí (UNIVALI) in 2020. Visiting scholar at International Business department of Florida International University (FIU). Lecturer in Business Administration and taught courses in Math. Research interest focused on how nonmarket political strategies affect emerging markets multinationals in their international expansion.

He was professor at the Catholic University of Petrópolis (2018-2023) and visiting professor at the D'Amore-McKim School of Northeastern Business in Boston (2018-2019). Professor and researcher in the areas of strategy, non-market strategy, international strategies, strategic implications of blockchain, and policies to support the attraction and promotion of the internationalization of companies. He was Regulatory Affairs Consultant at the Regulatory Agency for Public Services Granted in the State of Rio de Janeiro and President of the National Council of State Secretaries of Administration - Consad. Master in Public Administration from Ebape, FGV, 2003 and Graduated in Social Communication from FACHA, 1988.

Consultant in Industrial Risk Management and HSE (Safety, Environment and Health) for over 45 years. Senior Consultant and AIChE/CCPS accredited instructor (Center for Chemical Process Safety - https://www.aiche.org/ccps) for the Risk-Based Process Safety Course (FRBPS). He is one of the coordinators of the Pipeline Risk Community Meetings – a partnership between CCPS and IBP. He worked for more than 35 years at PETROBRAS, having been, among others, Corporate Safety Manager and Corporate Coordinator for the implementation of the Safety, Environment and Health Guidelines.

He worked for 36 years at Petrobras, where he implemented Reliability and Asset Management methodologies at the technical, managerial, and executive levels. At Petrobras, he served as General Manager of 5 Refineries in Brazil, 1 Exploration and Production Business Unit, 1 corporate area of ​​Asset Management and Operational Excellence. Certified Fellow in Asset Management (CFAM) by the Australian Asset Management Council in 2013 and CAMA in 2014 by WPiAM/ABRAMAN.
